In this class, we will study the different genres of photography and the great photographers associated with each genre. In addition, we’ll learn some basics of photography (exposure, composition, depth of field, and more) by focusing on the techniques used by these photographers. We’ll also have hands-on activities such as creating cyanotypes, making a photo zine, and going for photo walks. Instructor: Sarah Ackers Sarah Akers has been homeschooling her kids for nearly 20 years, and in that time, she has led classes and workshops for homeschool, community, and 4-H groups on zines, photography, women’s history, mythology, and more. In her free time, she is a film photographer who has been a guest on several film-related podcasts, a zine maker, and loves to read, travel, and go to concerts.
