TCC: To Be or Not to Be!

Description: TCC (Teen Conservation Corp) To Be or Not to Be: This 8-session course designed for homeschoolers ages 13-15 will focus on the intriguing topics of endangered and invasive plant and animal species. Students will combine artistic creativity and research skills to present information about a NC endangered plant or animal species of their choice, culminating in a multidimensional ?habitat? created in class. Our study of invasive plants will involve field work to ID, understand, and remove these species. You can make a difference! Some research work at home will be required between sessions for use during class. The last session will include culminating presentations to TCC families. Session dates are January 5 & 19, February 2 & 16, March 2 & 16, April 6 & 20 from 1-4pm each day.Note: We must have at least 10 participants enrolled by Dec 10 in order to move forward with this program series.
Teen Conservation Corps (TCC) at Blue Jay Point County Park is a thematic series of science education programs designed for homeschoolers ages 13-15 that meets 8 times over the course of 4 months. There will be a small amount of homework/research assigned each session to reinforce concepts presented, refresh memories between sessions and to help participants take ownership of their learning--this research will be used in class!
