Zines are small, self-published magazines that started in the 1930s sci-fi community and became popular in the 1970s punk scene and the 1990s Riot Grrrl movement. In this class, we’ll learn about the history of zines, the different kinds of zines, and of course, we’ll be making several different zines of our own. At the end of the course, we’ll celebrate with our own little zine fest!
