Jamye Carr has done stained glass for over a decade, and will be teaching students the basics of foiling pre-cut glass pieces. This class will NOT have students cutting or grinding glass (those are possible if there is interest in the future). Students will be given a pre-cut project piece and will learn how to foil, solder, and finish it into a completed stained glass piece. This is a great opportunity to see if students would like to invest in more expensive tools or create their own designs in the future. Instructor: Jamye Carr "I have 20 years of experience in public school teaching, specializing in Biology, Chemistry, Aquatic Science, and Astronomy. My teaching style incorporates student guided inquiry based learning, Socratic instruction, and adaptive lessons. Prior to working in education I was a marine biologist and histotechnologist, working on learning about animals and working with the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville and the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco Texas. My strengths involve my ability to work with a diverse population of students, from at risk teenagers to struggling adults. My passion is to make the world a better place, to increase the ability of students to manage their own problems, to solve through critical thinking skills, and to gather and process information skillfully."
