Join Science Jim for a fun hands-on quest to understand the Science of the Earth and its place in space. Earth Science is all about understanding the Earth as a matrix of wonderful interactive spheres. We will learn about the atmosphere: the water cycle, clouds and meteorology (weather). We will learn about the lithosphere: rocks, minerals and plate tectonics. Last but not least, we will learn about our place in space: seasons, moon phases, our solar system and beyond. This two hour class will include hands-on labs, homework, quizzes and grades. The material in this class is an excellent pre-cursor to high-school level material. FYI - this class has a per hour rate os $21.33 ($142 a month!) Instructor: Jim Muller “Science Jim” Mueller has a B.A. from Lake Forest College and an M.S. from Aurora University. He has worked as an environmental educator from 1989 to 1994. The following eight years he worked at a small children’s science museum in Carbondale, Illinois, six of those years as the executive director. In 2002, Jim began developing and teaching a Physics curriculum specifically for homeschoolers. As his popularity as a science teacher grew, he began developing and teaching courses in other sciences. He is renowned for his sense of humor and the fun he brings to his classes.
