About This Activity

Description

This intermediate-level class blends contemporary and lyrical dance with aerial fabric (sling-based skills) and lyra hoop, creating a seamless connection between expressive movement and aerial artistry. Students will explore fluid transitions, dynamic sequences, and expressive choreography, integrating dance technique with aerial movement to enhance strength, control, and artistry. On aerial fabric, students will work on sling-based wraps, balances, and flowing transitions, while on lyra, the focus will be on graceful movement, shape exploration, and strength-based sequences. Dance-based floorwork and improvisation will also be incorporated to enhance musicality, movement quality, and personal expression. Prerequisite: Students should have experience in contemporary or lyrical dance, or prior training in aerial (lyra or silks). This class is ideal for dancers and aerialists looking to merge grounded dance technique with aerial fluidity, creating a beautiful and expressive movement experience!

A waiver must be signed before participating in the first class.
Please note, Aerial Silks enrollment comes with a NO REFUND and NO MAKE UP class requirement due to the equipment required. Once a student is enrolled they are responsible for the full tuition for that session, regardless of any other circumstances.
