About This Activity

Description

Jazz music is one of America's greatest art forms--a true musical embodiment of America's "melting pot" ideals--and yet listening to it can be a bewildering experience. Join Creativity Lab Director and jazz trumpeter Dave Chisholm in a short-run class that will familiarize you with the concepts and traditions of this storied genre of music, from its humble beginnings in New Orleans in the earliest parts of the 20th century all the way to cutting-edge experimental modern improvised music. "Jazz" music is such an incredibly varied art form that there is absolutely something for everyone!
