NO CLASS NOVEMBER 21. SANFORD CREEK MONDAY 8/1-8/29 Jolly Roger: We'll explore the fascinating life of pirates, and the world they lived in. The beautiful ocean presents us with several activities exploring sea life and shore life. What was it like to live at sea, with all of that water but none to drink? Your little pirate will know it all! 9/12-10/17 Young Chemist: This is a sample of our summer camp. We will have an incredible collection of projects and experiments for your little scientist! By being involved with several hands-on activities your child will explore the basic scientific ideas that play a role in everyday life. Projects may include: glowing firefly, seashell necklace, slime creations 10/20-12/12 Young Paleontologist: Dinosaurs may be extinct, but they are very much alive at Club Scientific. Campers learn about a variety of dinosaurs and their habitats. Rocks, minerals and fossils are studied along with a variety of related projects. 1/9-1/30 The Great Inventors: We'll recreate the wheel and many other inventions from the past. Galileo, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Graham Bell and Leonardo DaVinci left us enough science for hundreds of hands-on experiments. We won't do that many, but we'll try! 2/16-3/27 Invention Convention II: We'll take the simplest invention - many of which we use daily - and break it down so our young scientists understand how it actually works! We guarantee you'll never use these tools again and not think of our labs. 4/3-6/12 By Air, Land and Sea: The history and science behind some of our most popular (or enjoyed) modes of transportation will be explored in this after school lab. Building and testing is the name of this game.
