The Buckler – a small round fist-shield. Used by knights, soldiers, nobels from the middle ages till the Renaissance and later. Used all the time because the buckler is far more than an defense tool, it is an effective weapon; used for blocking, pushing and beating. This is one of the reasons why many historic fencing books teach the use of the buckler. The focus on this workshop will be the use of the Buckler in the 1.33 style (about 1300). We will also have a look at other fencing masters like Hans Talhoffer (1450) and Paulus Hector Mair (1540) to get an expression of different styles. Looking forward to seeing you at this workshop! 4 Days full of new and very old techniques for sword and buckler, and a lot of fun. See you in Chicago at the Sword and Bucker Intensive 2017!
