Machine Madness Grades K-3: All new STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) projects. (Fall and Spring projects do not repeat) Through fun, hands-on and engaging science, engineering, and design technology, students learn how the world works, how buildings stand up, how machines move, and how people design and make and use of technology. Projects are different for fall, and spring sessions and do not repeat. Using a wide assortment of curriculum materials, including K’NEX, Keva Planks, Lego WeDo Robotics, Snap Circuits, Raspberry Pi, Minecraft and hands-on building projects, students construct machines, program robots, build gadgets, gizmos, structures and vehicles, and assemble electronics such as a radio or flying saucer. Through these integrated STEAM projects, students gain problem-solving skills, develop spatial awareness and a basic understanding of physics, gravity, electricity, energy, design, and robotics.
