About This Activity

Description

We're sorry, but this sub-activity is over. The last meeting was Friday, November 18, 2016.

Students will learn basic carpentry skills and the safe use of hand tools in a group setting. Instructor Nat Davis creates a fun, hand on work environment where the learning is driven by the student's motivation to create fun, functional, and beautiful woodshop projects. Students choose from an array of projects and are encouraged to invent and design their own projects. Project choices included rubber band powered paddle boats, trucks, planes, and birdhouses. Advanced or older students choose and design CD racks, skim boards, bike ramps and basic furniture. Nat Davis has been teaching carpentry to kids for 10 years and is passionate about hands on experiential and project based learning.
