Lifeguard Training (Blended Learning Format)
The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over.
Students will have at least 2 weeks to complete 7 ½ hours of online training before attending the first in person training date which will begin with the swim tests to meet the prerequisites for the course. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion and must be taken on a Flash-enabled PC with a high speed Internet connection.
