Description
Climbing for the Community presents " The City Heights Climbing Club" Climbing for the Community, a local 501c3 non-profit, has partnered with The City of San Diego Parks and Recreation and Mesa Rim Climbing Gym to bring City Heights its own rock-climbing club. Kids will have the opportunity to scale 50ft walls with professional instructors at their side. All the necessary safety equipment will be provided to mitigate any risks. The program's goal is to increase access to rock climbing for those who are most under-represented in the sport. With time and further instruction, kids and families will have the chance to take these skills outdoors to areas like Mission Trails. This program emphasizes Adventure, Access, and Acceptance. The program is directed at the City Heights community and those living in the 92105 area code; it is free for kids and their parents. If you currently have the means to access these types of sports, please consider leaving a spot open for families who do not. People of color and low income families are encouraged to sign up! - Participating kids must be transported through City Vans driven by City staff to and from sites. NO EXCEPTIONS - Pick up and drop off location will be City Heights Recreation Center 4380 Landis St, SD, CA, 92105 - Pick up Time 3:30PM - Dropoff Time 9:00PM - Transportation is for Kids Only! - Parents get entry and rentals for free!
