Balboa Park Boys Day of Dance Workshop Sunday, September 14, 2025.
Welcome to our Civic Dance Arts Boys Day of Dance Workshop which is designed for male dancers ages 8 to 17yrs. This workshop is to help encourage and support our boy dancers to continue their dance studies and to help them bond with one another. We encourage enthusiastic boys of all dance abilities to participate.
Highlights of the Boys Workshop include one day of dance training with Civic Dance Arts staff. Bootcamp warm up, bonding games, multiple levels of Jazz/Hip Hop classes taught by Civic Dance Instructors, showcase performance at the end of the day, opportunity to perform in our Fundraising Night of Theater shows on October 3 & 4 in the Casa del Prado Theater, Balboa Park.
The Boys Day of Dance Workshop is held in the Casa del Prado Building (Room 201). Please visit www.civicdancearts.org for a map of the location.
Please note there will be no onsite registration on the day of the workshop.
Check-in is at 9:00 am and a group warm-up begins promptly at 9:15 am with classes to start at 9:30 am. A 10 minute snack break will be allocated, so bring your water and snack(s) and hang out with other boys who love dance also. You are responsible to pack a snack, refillable water bottle and towel for your dancer. As a precaution to all dancers, please do not send any peanut products with your child.
No parents or observers will be allowed in the building during dance or snack time.
Wear sneakers and bring a pair of sunglasses. Please write your name on all personal articles.

Welcome to the City of San Diego's Balboa Park Fall Boys Workshop September 14, 2025.
Please note there will be no onsite registration on the day of the workshop.
Check-in: Begins at 9:00 am in front of Casa room 201. The day begins at 9:15am with a group boot camp warm-up. Jazz/Hip Hop classes and bonding games to follow. End of day showcase and opportunity to perform at Fundraising Night of Theater shows on October 3 & 4 (see more details further below). All classes will be held in the rehearsal spaces at the Casa Del Prado in Balboa Park. (Please visit our website: www.civicdancearts.org for written directions.)Classes: All classes will start promptly at 9:15 am and will finish by 12:30 pm. Staff will determine which level your dancer participates in.
Pick-up: We ask that you sign out your child from Casa Del Prado Bldg rm 201 promptly at 12:30 pm. Please allow time for parking. No child will be released without a parent or guardian present.
Dance Rooms: Classes will be held in the Casa Del Prado building upstairs in rooms 201 and 202. NO GUM will be allowed in the rooms. We also ask that you do not bring unnecessary valuables with you. Staff are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Snack: There will be a 10 minute snack break. Please provide your dancer with a snack as well as a refillable water bottle.
Dance Attire: We ask that all dancers wear comfortable clothing they can move freely in and sneakers. Please bring a pair of sunglasses as well.
Personal Items: We suggest dancers do not bring personal or expensive items to the workshop. All items must be labeled with the dancers' name.
Observing: For the safety of the children, only staff will be allowed in the dancing areas or during snack time.
Fundraising Night of Theater performance opportunity: Must be available for a mandatory rehearsal on Sunday, September 28 from 10:30am-12:30pm at the Casa del Prado Building/Theater in addition to both shows Friday, October 3 and Saturday, October 4 from 7-9pm.
