Through this program students have an opportunity to compete in the Synopsys Science and Technology Competition that is held in March. Winning high school projects go on to California State and Intel. Although conducting the experimental projects are the personal responsibility of the students, teacher advisors will help students adhere to a timeline, check for progress, suggest improvements, troubleshoot problems, and give feedback on the conclusion and visual display board. Some additional points to consider before enrolling: Please note the experimental project is done at home. If the project involves the use of school equipment then a mutual time has to be set up between the student and mentor teacher. Basis cannot set up outside internships or place you into university labs but we would be happy to write letters to assist you if you would like us to. The student bears the cost for the materials and if selected for the competition, cost of competition as well ($15:00 for individual entry and $30:00 for team entry).
