ATAVUS (formerly Serevi) is offering a program in West Seattle to begin preparation for rugby in a team setting. This program focuses on the development of age-appropriate motor skills (running, catching, passing, and kicking) and social skills (teamwork, following directions, sportsmanship) in a safe, fun and child centered-environment. Emphasis will be on safety and fun at all times. While maintaining a game-like environment, this program also aims to teach some of the more complex aspects of rugby such as continuity and decision-making. Participants will learn different variations of Flag Rugby and will begin developing the skills to play on a youth rugby team. By applying all things learned, kids are able to get a taste of what it is like to really take the field in the game of rugby. The skills learned can be applied in many sports such as Soccer, Baseball, Football, and Basketball which makes rugby the perfect compliment to any multi-sport athlete. All participants will receive an official Youth Rugby t-shirt.
