About This Activity
This is a two-part class, designed for children of parents who have guns in the house or may visit homes where there may be guns in the house. We will focus primarily on the Four Cardinal Safety Rules, then move into clearing a weapon, and how to make a weapon safe. There will be a test on the safety rules required to pass in order to be eligible for part two of this class. Part two is a live-fire exercise at Cindy's Hotshots in Severn, MD on Saturday, July 19. Here, your child will have an opportunity to fire a .22 caliber pistol (Glock 44), an AR style rifle (.22 cal. conversion), and a .22 cal. semi-automatic sub machine gun (HK MP5). Upon registration, you will receive a link to sign up for your timeslot at the range. Parents are welcome to sit in on the virtual classroom portion of this class but will be spectators only at the range.
