Our Counselors-in-Training program is designed for campers who have attended Fundamentals Sports Camp in previous years, and who have demonstrated an understanding of our philosophy of sports education. This group 13 to 15 year-olds will be spending their time behind the scenes and on the field as helpers to the coaches and assistant coaches for most of the day. This program gives our veteran campers a chance to develop leadership skills during classroom chalk talks where they will work with the camp director to discuss these important topics with younger campers as well as learn more on the topics of how to effectively coach and counsel. They will also help with trivia games, and work with younger children during skill units and they will guide younger children as they learn at Fundamentals Sports Camp. Our CITs are truly preparing to be future camp counselors and camp coaches, and when they are done with the CIT program, they will have skills and experience to take with them into the interview process, whether it's for our camp or another summer program elsewhere.
