Turn your summer into an unforgettable piano adventure!
PianoFest is a weeklong musical experience for advanced piano students. Daily lessons with Levine faculty, master classes and seminars with guest artists, ensemble and solo performances, as well as exploring the food and classical music scene of the Nation’s Capital. Teacher's recommendation is required. Non-Levine students will be asked to submit a sample video.
PianoFest Schedule:
9 AM - 12:30 PM: Optional field trip (National Gallery, National Museum of American History, Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap)
1 - 1:30 PM: Group technique class
1:30-4:30 PM: Lessons, ensemble rehearsals, coaching
4:30-5:30 PM: Snack break
5:30-6:30 PM: Practice, sight reading class
6:30-8:00 PM: Concert/presentation by guest artist
Guest Artist: Avery Gagliano
We are pleased to welcome back Levine alumna Avery Gagliano as our guest artist of PianoFest. Having made her debut at Carnegie Hall at the age of just 20, 22-year-old pianist Avery Gagliano is an artist with "distinctive young talent."
Avery came to international acclaim as the First Prize and Best Concerto Prize winner of the 2020 National Chopin Piano Competition and as the only American semifinalist at the 18th International Chopin Competition in 2021. She is currently studying at the Curtis Institute with Robert McDonald.
Enrollment Deadline: June 1, 2024
Repertoire requirements: 2-3 solo pieces and one ensemble work (assigned by June 15)
Tuition: $950 for non-Levine student, $750 for Levine student
