Sponsored by The American Red Cross & Disney. The American Red Cross Pillowcase Project is a hands on program to teach children and their families how to prepare for disasters. This instructional class will teach students how to prepare for emergencies and enhance coping skills. They will practice what they learn and share their knowledge with others. The program emphasizes the importance of developing an emergency communications plan, fire evacuation plan and emergency contact cards. This also will teach students how to create their own emergency supply kits by packing essential items in a pillowcase - a common household item -for easy transport during an emergency. Students will have the opportunity to decorate and personalize their pillow cases. All materials needed for class will be provided.
