Terrific Scientific's LEGO Robotics program offers students an opportunity to build and program the coolest robots available. Our little engineers build models, attach sensors and motors, and configure behaviors using a simple programming tool. The beginning and advanced LEGO Robotics is available for both the Fall and Spring semesters. New students attending our Spring LEGO Robotics class will be grouped based on grade level and experience. All returning students for Fall or Spring that have completed the Beginner WeDo Robotics program will be placed in the advanced WeDo program. Students who have completed Beginner and Advanced WEDO are eligible for Advanced Design and Program NXT Robotics - Students in grades 3 to 5 learn to design, program and control fully-functional models using LEGO MINDSTORMS components. They use software to plan, test and modify sequences of instructions for a variety of life-like robotic behaviors. And they learn to collect and analyze data from sensors, using data logging functionalities embedded in the software. Curriculum lessons are developed by Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Academy and provide a series of real-life activities, covering topics within science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Students must complete the Introduction to Robotics program first. They can then take the Design and Program Robots program. Students skill level will be assessed during the first few classes and then placed into the appropriate program. Advanced classes are available for both Robotic programs.
