Continuing 5pm class Instructor: Michael Snyder Adults taking Voice Class will: Learn the correct way to breathe. Gain an understanding of phonation and articulation. Learn vocalises that will allow them to “warm up” their voices quickly and correctly. “Explore” their voices. Learn vocalises that will allow them to increase their range and help “purify” their tone, without stressing their voices. Gain an understanding and knowledge of International Phonetic Alphabet symbols as a “translation device,” which will promote an understanding of sound that will make it possible to sing the correct sounds in any language. Choose a song they would like to sing, and learn how to sing the song easily, without any physical stress. Have an opportunity to gain greater knowledge and understanding of the music style of the song they wish to sing. Sing the song of their choice in a public performance. Have fun! The techniques and skills employed throughout this course will make it possible for students to “protect” their voices against damage,“protect” their voices against the ravages of time, and make it possible to avoid tiring their voices during long rehearsals and long rehearsal schedules.
