Class Description: This wildly fun art camp kids will spend their afternoons creating a wide variety of art projects that compliment the morning theater session. Participants can help create the creative props and sets that will be used at the production at the end of the week. Masks, costumes and accessories will be constructed with a ANIMAL theme and give children an opportunity to make one of a kind projects. All supplies included. One week of classes from 12:30pm - 4:30pm is $140. Teacher: Dona Steele Dona has lived in Steamboat on and off for over 35 years and has a long history with the Steamboat Springs Arts Council as an artist member and serving with the Visual Arts Committee. She also helped develop the Kaleidoscope/Young at Art summer programs for the SSAC where she serves as an instructor. Her degree in Art Education and Constructive Design from the Florida State University launched her into many careers. As an entrenepeneur, she has also run and operated Dona Steele Designs for over 20 years, specializing in faux finishes and decorative painting. What to Wear: Comfortable fitting clothes are appropriate for this camp, dress for a mess since we will be painting, glueing and the likes. A small bag is also a great idea for an extra change of clothes, water bottle and a snack. Snacks: Parents please send children to camp with a dry snack and water. Snacks and beverages will be consumed during “snack-time.” Children staying the full day will also need to bring a healthy sack lunch to consume during the lunch break.
