Class Description: Students will be introduced to the power of Shakespeare's language through a variety of playful activities and games that will help them take the words from the page to the stage. They’ll work as a creative ensemble to explore Shakespeare's words, imagery and characters through many different disciplines (visual art, spoken word, music...etc.), culminating in a shared performance for friends and family. Teacher: Will O'Hare is a Director, Actor, Photographer and Educator in NYC. He recently worked with Julie Taymor on A Midsummer Night's Dream at Theatre For A New Audience and with two-time Academy Award Nominee Woody Harrelson as the Associate Director on the Off-Broadway production Bullet For Adolf. For several years, Will was the Education Director and a Resident Director for The Classical Theatre Project in Toronto, where he was nominated for two Dora Mavor Moore Awards for Outstanding Production (Twelfth Night and Macbeth). Will currently teaches Shakespeare in the Conservatory program at Michael Howard Studios and is a Teaching Artist and Ambassador for The Shakespeare Society, working with K-12 students all over the New York City. Other credits include Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London, The History Boys and Mary Poppins on Broadway. Will is a member of the Lincoln Center Director's Lab, and is also a freelance photographer.
