Our Pre-Algebra source covers the basic concepts to prepare your child for the Pre-Algebra curriculum. We will review how to evaluate algebraic expressions, including manipulating absolute values and integers. Students will also learn the basic logic behind solving one- and two-step equations through comparisons and manipulations of rational numbers. We will also review the concept of variables to understand how to simplify algebraic expressions. Our course will also cover how to write and evaluate exponential values; rates, ratios, and proportions; and converting between fractions, decimals, and percentages. Toward the end of our course, we will examine basic geometrical and trigonometric concepts including coordinate planes, functions, and linear equations; geometric relationships between shapes and angles; calculating the perimeters and areas of polygons and the circumferences and areas of circles. Lastly, we will cover an introduction to statistics, which will entail calculating mean, median, and mode and how to represent data.
