The 9 Hour Film returns! Blue Door Collective held this class in February and students have asked us to bring it back ever since. This class covers how to create indie film from start to finish. Seriously. We will cover: • The writing process from a story arch to writing dialogue with Christian Gridelli and Hunter Norris of Dimestore Films. • Creative producer Angie Gaffney will speak on how to manage a budget and keep the integrity of the story while managing money. • Dimestore will come back to speak on directing when it comes to working with actors all the way to managing an edit. • Cinematographer and DePaul professor Patrick Wimp will walk students through the basics of cinematography and how it effects the rest of production. • Hamzah Jamjoom, a master editor, will speak to how to manage an edit and why the edit is the final rewrite. He will also talk briefly to color correction, special effects, and final delivery. • To wrap up the day, Jonathan Broecker will teach students how to talk about your film successfully, network at filmmaker events, and navigating film festivals.
