Taekwondo, it is composed of three parts as shown in the English spelling, though it is one word in Korean. "Tae" means "foot," "leg," or "to step on"; "Kwon" means "fist," or ''fight''; and "Do" means the "way" or "discipline. So it can mean the way or discipline of foot and fist martial arts are studied for various reasons including combat skills, cultivation (meditation), mental discipline, character development and building self-confidence. There is a one-time, non-refundable, $40 uniform fee paid to the instructor at the first class.
