This fall and winter, Ah Haa invites young emerging artists (that’s everyone!) to participate in a unique art immersion program devoted to exploring the mountain cultures, art, people and geography of the world’s Seven Summits, the highest mountains on each of the seven continents: Denali (North America); Mt. Elbrus (Europe); Kilimanjaro (Africa); Aconcagua (South America); Mt. Everest (Asia); Carstensz Pyramid (Australia); and Mt. Vinson (Antarctica). Divided into one 12-week session (Sept.-Dec.) and one 9-week session (Feb.-May), students will devote three class meetings to exploring one Summit using one medium, for example Aconcagua/Felting with with Ann Cheeks; Denali/Ceramic totems with Julie McNair; Kilimanjaro/Mosaics with Flair Robinson, and so forth. Ah Haa will draw from its most talented instructors to teach each Summit and guide students in their creative process as they explore a variety of art concepts and techniques.
