DescriptionJune 17: Magnetism What is a magnet? We'll learn how to make an electromagnet, build our own compasses, and discuss the many applications of magnets in the modern world. June 24: TBD July 1: Optics Learn how prisms, mirrors, and lenses work as we investigate the behavior of light under different conditions. July 8: TBD July 15: Botany After sleuthing for seedlings, shoots, and more in our San Juan surrounds, we'll return to Pinhead HQ for plant analysis - learning plant anatomy, life cycles and their roles in our ecosystem along the way. July 22: Water What makes the H20 molecule so important? Join us as we explore buoyancy, hydropower, and the water cycle during this in depth look at the foundation of life as we know it. July 29: Soil Science Soil surrounds us, but what's in it anyway? Rocks, bugs, nutrients? Is soil alkaline or acidic, and how does its pH affect the landscape around us? We'll take a closer look at this important, and often overlooked, natural resource during the final Mad Labs of the summer.
