We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Saturday, March 4, 2017.
This 3 hour, hands-on, energetic, mixed generation workshop is a melding of old and new forms of communication. The session begins with the generations together, and then the class goes into same generation breakout groups. Tweens and teens learn life skills in deference, courtesy, thoughtfulness, and graciousness in areas such as: Meet/Greet/Introduction Essentials? The Art of Small Talk? and Conversation and Communication Verbal and NonVerbal Cues. There is an abundance of roleplay and solo/group observations. Adults will bring smartphones or iPads and learn how to text, send photos via email, take videos, and use social media, along with learning the rules of online communication and privacy. In the second part of the session, the two generations pair up and demonstrate to each other their newly learned skills. Participating students may be eligible for Community Service hours.
This workshop is free if you are already enrolled in Cyberseniors, please call 415-435-4355 to be put onto the roster.
