About This Activity

(For students who have completed grade 8 up to those who have completed grade 11) The complexity of our world offers unprecedented opportunities for creativity and innovation, but only if we are properly equipped with the right tools and a process by which to apply them. Working in groups as consultants on a real-world challenge, students in this 5-day programme will learn to employ a range of creative problem-solving techniques and apply Integrative Thinking to design an innovative solution to a complex interdisciplinary problem. Over the course of the experience participants will: 1. Delve deeply into the integrative thinking process 2. Learn to model and critically analyze complex systems 3. Explore the value of opposing solutions to a problem 4. Build their communication skills 5. Broaden their view of leadership and the stance they embody about what kinds of decisions they are capable of making productively 6. Get hands-on experience applying these tools to real-world challenges
