Our Martial Arts weekly lessons allow our students to explore the fundamentals of Martial Arts and self defence, combining Shotokan Karate, Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu. The combination of these three styles of Martial Arts makes for a complete introduction to self-defence. The principle goal of the program is to create confidence in the students physical and verbal ability to stand up for themselves, while demonstrating unvarying respect towards others. We also strive to create a passion for Martial Arts and a firm understanding of the fundamental techniques.The supplementary benefits include developing a healthy, strong and resilient body through developing cardiovascular endurance and muscle strength. The program also focuses on equipping students with a well-rounded education in the safety of their own person and the safety of those around them. To ensure the safety and well being of all children, occasional discussions will be had on the topic of bullying, its implications, modes of prevention, and Street Smart rules. Physical Benefits: Children benefit by developing a strong and flexible body. They also develop better motor skills (coordination and balance) as well as improved mental and muscle memory. Emotional Benefits: Children develop positive self-esteem, confidence, self-respect and respect for others. Spiritual Benefits: Children benefit with improved focus, discipline and the ability to dissolve the ego in order to think clearly in a confrontation. Practical Benefits: Children develop a better understanding of body mechanics, Street Smart rules and basic First Aid techniques. Through the teaching of the Martial Arts, they develop the ability to defend themselves on their feet and on the ground should a dangerous situation arise. Our lessons are indoor or outdoor depending on the season and location.
