During this 14-day intensive overnight science course, high school students can earn college credit as they explore Mt. Adams, watersheds, and the agricultural valley of Trout Lake, WA. Students will backpack, whitewater raft,work and play in the Mt. Adams Wilderness and the beautiful organic valley of Trout Lake, Washington. Students will engage in hands-on field science research with professional scientists and camp on a small organic farm. Students will spend their days and evenings backpacking, farming, cooking, biking, and studying local watersheds and food systems We'll find time for relaxation and recreation while taking the academic nature of the course seriously. Students will walk away with service hour credit and high school elective science credit. Students who fully participate and complete their coursework to a satisfactory level will walk away with a certificate of course completion. This certificate can be brought to their high school administrator for a semester of high school science credit.
