NO CLASS: April 15 & 16
American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Classes will be offered by Pima County Staff for Prospective employees who intend to apply to work for Pima County. Material covered will include American Red Cross Lifeguard Training. Participants must by at least 15 years old to take the class (participants must be 16 years old to work for Pima County). There is a pre-requisite swim of at least 300 yards continuously (using breaststroke and freestyle), treading water for 2 minutes without the use of arms, and a 10 pound brick retrieval so please be prepared. In the event the pool is closed due to weather or any other unforeseeable circumstance, the class may need to be extended to meet all objectives at the discretion of the head lifeguard instructor.
Class Times are: Saturday & Sunday, April 1, 2, & 8 from 1-6 PM; The Sunday, April 9th, class from 8 AM-6PM is the CPR portion of the training. It will be held at the Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation Main Office at 3500 W. River Road, 85741 (There will be a 1 hour lunch break); Saturday and Sunday, April 22 & 23 from 1-6 PM.
