Payment plan possible. See note at end of description below. In Music Theory 101, We will discover the backbone of any and all music you've ever heard. From worship music to classical pieces by Bach. In this class, each student will learn applicable skills that can be transferred to any instrument. Prerequisites: No Previous experience needed Skills & Objectives: Each student will learn how to read music in treble and base clef. We will learn how to compose a song. We will dissect songs and learn how all the instruments work together, along with a general knowledge of music theory. Format: We will start every class by listening to a different composer and learning about their writing style. After we discuss the composer of the week, each student will have a song from that composer that they will listen to throughout the week. We will work on fundamentals for half an hour by completing worksheets and discussing the topic as a group. At the end of our class, they will be given weekly handouts with special instructions to fill out that week. At the end of our class, we will play a music theory game for our remaining time. Then, all students will be dismissed. Bring: All the materials will be provided.
