About This Activity
Baylor TIP Camp for 4th-7th graders is a day camp option. Morning course offerings will run from 9am to noon, and afternoon courses run from 1:00 to 4:00pm. Lunch is included only with registration for BOTH morning and afternoon courses. In this spellbinding class, we will pull back the curtain on classic card tricks and illusions, revealing the hidden math behind the magic. As students analyze classic card tricks, they will uncover the role of probability, logic, and arithmetic in their design. We will also examine the geometry behind optical illusions, focusing on angles, symmetry, and perspective to understand how visual perception can be manipulated. By blending mathematical reasoning with creativity, students will gain a deeper appreciation for the hidden structures that shape both magic and reality.
