About This Activity

The "Little Tennis Program" is an innovative USPTA curriculum for teaching tennis to children using special balls, equipment, and courts, to make learning easier. While introducing basic tennis strokes and striking skills, it also develops gross and fine motor skills needed for a variety of sports. Multiple fun, fast paced games eliminate boredom and standing around. If you child has been playing tennis previously, contact the enrichment program to see whether the later (4:30-5:30) class would be more appropriate. Ernie Cohen is a U.S.P.T.A. certified tennis professional & sports programmer who has been teaching adults and children in the Washington area for 25 years. In this class Ernie will work with students whatever their level, to develop basic tennis skills and strokes and share his love for the game. The class will take place indoors for most of the session, using equipment designed fro the purpose, including foldable nets and slow bounce tennis balls. Groups will be small, for 6-8 students.
