**ONCE PROGRAM IF FULL, PUT YOUR CHILD'S NAME ON THE WAITLIST. IF WE GET ENOUGH PLAYERS ON THE WAITLIST, WE CAN ADD ANOTHER TEAM.
This softball league is for girls and focuses on improving players skill development in areas such as throwing, batting, fielding, defensive situations, running bases and sportsmanship. A single elimination tournament (randomly seeded) will be played at the end of the season. The Championship Game will be played on the evening of Wednesday, July 24 at Young Field in South Elmwood Park.
Evaluation Days will be the first 2 days of softball and team assignments will be emailed by Friday, June 14. The evaluation days are to try to make teams as even as possible.
Players should bring their own glove and water bottle. Please label any personal equipment with name and phone number.
The registration deadline is April 8. After registration deadline, late fees will apply. Registration fee is $62 due by April 8 after April 8, fee will go up to $82.
There will be no practices or games on July 1-4 week.
Please request an appropriate t-shirt size for your child. We will not have extra shirts to exchange. T-shirts are sponsored by Scheels. Softball will be based on age in the 2023/2024 school year.
Team schedules will be emailed and posted online at wfparks.org by May 31. Team rosters will be set up according to school attending, please specify the school your child attends or will be attending.
Individual and team photos will be taken by a professional photographer, with the option to order photo packages. Dates and times will be emailed and posted at wfparks.org in June.
On the first day of baseball/softball, teams will meet at their assigned field for evaluation days.
Equipment:
Players should bring their own baseball glove with them to practice every day. Bats will be provided. The West Fargo Park District highly recommends players supply their own helmet for hygienic reasons. Helmets can be purchased at local sporting good stores. Helmets will be provided for those who do not purchase one on their own. All participants should bring a water bottle with them each day. Please label your Childs equipment with name and phone number.
“Buddy” Policy:
Each Participant may request one friend as a “buddy”. The buddy requested must also request you in order for the buddy request to be considered a match. All other requests (e.g. multiple buddies, buddy chains) will not be granted. Requests to play on the same team will not be guaranteed. Siblings are always buddied unless a specific request not to do so is made. When siblings are placed together, no other buddy request is granted. Weather Cancellations:
There will be no makeup games due to weather related cancellations. Please check the weather cancellation line for updated information: 701-551-7138.
