Schneiter's Bluff Junior Golf Team Play is for those junior golfers who would like to learn to play the game of golf in a fun, friendly, competitive environment. This program will be much like playing on a competitive sports junior recreation program league. Play will be on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Boys and girls will be put on teams of 3 players and will play a scramble (best shot) tournament format. Players will be rotated in and out if all 3 players are present. One of the players will play 4 holes, and the other two players will play 3 of the 5 holes. One point will be given on each hole based upon which team wins, loses, or ties the hole. The team with the most points of holes won over the 5 hole match will be considered the match winner. There are a total of 5 points available for each match. The top 4 teams with the highest points after the end of the match play season will advance to a post season playoff. Boys and girls ages 8 to 14 are eligible to play. The matches will be played on The Short Course (5 hole par 3 course) located at Schneiter's Bluff Golf Course in West Point, Utah. The enrollment fee for the league series is $50.00. This amount includes green fees each week, 1 limited flight golf ball and a team tee shirt. Parents will be asked to be coaches for their child's team to help with safety, rules, etiquette, scoring, and training. We ask that each parent be engaged in their child's learning and enjoyment of the game. Parents and family members are encouraged to come and watch their child play in the matches and help cheer them on. Limited flight (hard foam) golf balls will be used by each child for playing their matches (regular golf balls may be used for putting). The limited flight balls will enable the participants to make harder swings and use more clubs in their matches and play. The limited flight balls also do not hurt spectators if they happen to hit them.
