The Alpharetta Recreation Gymnastics classes are designed to promote physical fitness and learning in a fun environment. The program encourages physical fitness through fun and exciting activities that build strength, flexibility, coordination and helps enhance cognitive learning. Participants will have the opportunity to work on the uneven bars, balance beam, floor, vault, 30-foot-long trampoline, rope swing and play in the giant foam pit.
Our B.R.A.V.E (Bee-Radiant-Active-Vibrant-Energetic) kids gymnastics class is designed to help improve fitness, hand eye coordination, motor skills, balance, strength, flexibility and sensory and spatial awareness for children with special needs who are independent while doing gross motor skill activities, yet require a smaller class size. Participants will have the opportunity to work on gross motor activities, balance beam, bars trampoline, and play in the foam pit. Our goal is to allow ALL children to have fun, move and gain confidence will improving their health. Caregivers may be asked to provide assistance, as needed. Parents or caregivers who register their child will be contacted prior to the first class meeting to discuss accommodations. Prerequisite: No previous gymnastics experience required. Students should be able to perform tasks without a buddy. Attire: Leotard or t-shirt and shorts for girls with hair pulled back with a rubber band; T-shirt and shorts for boys.
