Earth, Moon and Beyond

Grades K-5. Come on a journey of exploration to our solar system. Students experience the wonders of science as they learn the unique characteristics of each planet and how to protect our favorite planet, Earth, to be a better, cleaner and safer home. Instructor: Nutty Scientists staff. 7 weeks.

Topics covered include

The Sun and Moon: So close and yet so far! How do they interact, what do they mean to the Earth? Learn everything about the best friends our planet could have!

Trip to Mercury and Venus: Don?t forget your passport! Let's get ready for the greatest vacation of our life! But wait?. Do you think it's safe to go out in space? Maybe not? Let's investigate!

Trip to Mars and Jupiter: The solar system was never so attractive! The Nutty Scientists are ready to explore every planet and set foot on each of them, however they might find some obstacles along the way! Help them investigate and discover the wonders hidden in outer space!

Trip to Saturn, Uranus and Neptune: Aww??. We are about to finish exploring the Solar System, but we haven't found a planet to spend our next vacation! Cross your fingers and hope it's Saturn, Uranus, or Neptune!

Energy all around: Jump, Dance, Scream?.. The Nutty Scientists are so enthusiastic , they can't wait to show everything you need to know about energy and how it?s all around us! Students learn about non-renewable energy sources.

Fun Recycling: How much can we impact planet earth with our actions? Help the Nutty Scientists get to the bottom of the situation and contribute to a better, cleaner, and safer home! Recycling has never been this fun!

When will it rain? Students learn about rain, the rain cycle. And why there is more rainfall in some areas than others. See how people would try to make rain fall from the sky before they knew how to apply science. Students make a Topographical map to study elevation, and create a rain stick from materials available in their homes.

No class 11/8.
