In Kala's Arts Enrichment Online, students will engage in hands-on art making activities using a range of materials & techniques. This session is designed for students K-5; the class meets weekly for 1 hr, 2:30-3:30 pm on Fridays We want your child to experience our program so your family can decide if it is the best fit for them. We schedule trial days on a space-available basis. Single day trials are $22 (60 min) f you then sign up for the program, your total tuition will be prorated for the time remaining in our year. Trial Day tuition does not include art supplies. You will receive a supply list for the day's lesson. Art Inside Out/ Outside In: Students will create colorful and dynamic drawings, paintings, and sculptures inspired by nature and household objects indoors and outdoors. Arte y Cultura: Folk Art from Latin America: Students explore art, color, pattern, and shapes while learning about folk art from Latin America. 12 Session Dates: 9/18, 9/25, 10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20, 12/4, 12/11, 12/18 (No class on 10/30) Instructor Bios: Ava Morton is an interdisciplinary artist, writer, and educator from Houston, Texas. Morton’s writing and artistic practices are entwined and often focus on (re)contextualization, subversion, and affect. Her most recent research takes a particular interest in linguistics, sound, and the boundaries of the body. Morton received her BFA and BA in Biological-Anthropology from UC-Santa Barbara, and an MFA and MA in Visual and Critical Studies from the California College of the Arts. Etty Alberto is a visual artist and educator from Saint Paul, MN. She teaches in Kala’s AIS and Camp Kala programs, and Attitudinal Healing Connection in Oakland. Etty is the Founder of Más Arte, a free summer camp currently providing art kits and lesson plans to families in San Antonio, Chicago, Saint Paul, and Minneapolis. She is a graduate of the 2019 New York Foundation of Arts Immigrant mentorship program in Oakland.
