Movement for Actors focuses on total body integration through a harmonious combination of dance, yoga and improv techniques. Classwork provides actors pursuing musical or dramatic roles with fundamentals to create meaningful and expressive movement. Students will gain confidence, grace, control, body and spacial awareness while improving posture, facial expressions and focus. Mat work targets muscle groups and focuses on strength and flexibility. Center work is in-place/standing movement for alignment, posture, weight transfer and balance. Movement across the floor helps with coordination and freedom of movement. Class will end with improv exercises that encourage self discovery, spontaneity and creativity. Although geared towards non-dancers, this class will further enhance the growth of any experienced dancer. Saturdays September 17 - November 19, 2016 10:45 – 11:45 am; Ages 11 and up!
