EXCITING NEWS! Class Act has been chosen to workshop a brand new virtual musical by the creative minds behind “The Show Must Go ONLINE” and “Super Happy Awesome News” (which have gone on to receive more than 750 productions around the globe). The newest Beat by Beat Press musical is inspired by the poems of award-winning poet Phillip Van Wagoner, a "modern day Shel Silverstein." Class Act students will have first access to songs and scenes as they come fresh off the pages of the writers. We'll bring this material to life, provide feedback, and make individual videos to help the authors develop the final script. NOTE: Some videotaping at home will be required. COVID SAFETY: All participants must wear masks, have temperature checked upon arrival, and honestly report any COVID symptoms or contact. As recommended by recent aerosol research with singers, we will avoid projecting our voices loudly through our masks. However, everyone will be encouraged to sing out when practicing at home! We will meet outdoors in a 20'x40' tent that easily allows for more than 9' between students. When the weather is stormy or gets too cold for comfort, we will meet online. Students enrolled in this class are encouraged to ALSO join the Tuesday Zoom version (or a portion of it) from 5:30–6:45. There is no additional charge for this session.
