Learn the survival skill of shelter building with your family. Work together using materials found in the woods to build a sturdy, weather-resistant shelter. We will be hiking off trail to our fort building location. No walk-ins accepted. Pre-registration required (for adult and child alike).
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation follows all CDC guidelines and Governor’s orders. Participants are expected to wear a mask indoors at all times and outdoors if social distancing guidelines cannot be met. Participants may be less than 6’ apart during an outdoor program. At that time, we will ask everyone to wear a mask. If you cannot, you will be asked to stand more than 6’ away.
This is NOT a drop-off program. Parent participation required.
Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Work gloves are recommended but optional. Please bring your own water bottle.
