This course allows a student to gain a basic understanding of the skills required to become a cosmetologist. The student will be required to demonstrate an understanding of procedures and methods to complete these tasks: manicures, pedicures, facials, body massages, shampooing, rinsing, scalp and hair care, finger waving, hair styling, permanent waving, hair coloring, hair sculpting, makeup, bacteriology, haircutting and sanitation methods. Students will be required to complete an apprenticeship of 36 hours a week in a salon for a total of 3,000 hours. Books and supplies included. This class is approved for veterans benefits.
National certification testing fees are the students' responsibility.
