About This Activity
Full-semester, after-school, conversational, FUN, Spanish immersion class Includes all after-school classes (small class sizes, personalized attention), materials, pre-test and post-test, homework, follow-up activities to do at home, YouTube videos to watch at home to reinforce what was learned in class, and online flashcards and games. Students will learn to speak A LOT of Spanish through games, songs, stories, and more. Classes are fun and interactive, but students will also be held to high expectations to learn, practice, study, have success, and develop Spanish speaking skills. Topics will include conversational every-day Spanish and age-appropriate themed units. Class sizes limited to max 12 students. Additional online Spanish classes and resources available to parents upon request. Instruction will include TPRS storytelling, immersive instruction, movement, songs, games, conversations, a final project, and more! Goals of this semester: Describe their dream house (rooms of a house and objects in a house), talk about the location of objects (above, below, next to…) Open to grades K-3rd mainly, BUT if you would like your 4th or 5th grader to participate, they will be accepted into the class as a classroom leader/teacher helper. They do not have to have prior Spanish knowledge (although that is a puls), and they will learn along side the little ones, participate in all activities, and be a leader in the classroom.
