We're sorry, but this program is over. The last meeting was Thursday, August 31, 2017.
The Connect Recreation Program is a drop-in program. There is no fee for this program and all facilities with the exception of Chihuahuita have the program/activities available from 3:30-6:30 pm Monday to Thursday and from 3:00-6:00 pm on Friday. Chihuahuita will be from 3:00-6:00 pm Monday to Friday. This program is for youth 6-14 years of age. There is an opportunity for youth 15-17 years of age to be Guides (volunteers). These may be youth hanging around facilities looking for a purpose, dong community service, or wanting to complete service learning hours for school. Attendance is taken, but there are no sign-in and out sheets. There is a Connect Program theme each month that will focus on sports and a positive power word (Leadership, Teamwork, Sportsmanship, Integrity, Giving, Honesty, etc.). The main goal is for staff in recreation centers to Connect with youth and get them Connected to a healthier lifestyle. Staff encourages feedback from youth on activities they like to see so activities can vary from sites. Free lunch is provided at most recreation Connect Program sites.
Free - No Charge. Youth 15-17 years of age to be Guides (volunteers).
To register you need to fill out basic registration form at your local recreation center.
