About This Activity

This one-week programming camp will focus on the fundamentals of object-oriented programming (particularly in the Java language). We will begin with basic programming concepts, using block-level coding, and progress through more interactive problem-solving. Students will learn to understand what objects are, and how classes and methods work together to bring life to lines of Java code. We will look to create simple programs that print out sentences, others that open small applications and even work with some gaming concepts! Along with helping students develop attention skills and complete detail-oriented tasks, the camp will be designed to help students think independently. All of this will be done in a fun, relaxed environment where students can explore their interest in innovation. With this experience, students will undoubtedly be more prepared for the next levels of education, all while having fun engaging with the ever-changing world of technology!
