Multi-Arts Discovery Camp - Session 3
Rising Kindergarten - Grade Five
This is an excellent sampler of all the artistic disciplines BlackRock has to offer. Each day, campers will be fully immersed in a specific aspect of the arts: drama, visual art and design, movement and dance, songs and music. On Fridays, campers showcase their favorite creation of the week in a student arts showcase where they present their work to fellow campers and guests.
All BlackRock Center for the Arts camps are nut-free. This includes peanuts, tree nuts (cashews, almonds, walnuts, pecans, etc.), items cooked in peanut oil and nut spreads and butters like peanut butter and Nutella. Please make sure to not pack anything containing nuts or nut products in your camper's lunch.
Camp runs from 9:00am to 3:30pm. Before Care is from 7:45am to 9:00am and After-Care is from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. Your child must be registered in Before Care or After Care in order to participate.
Every child needs to be signed in and out by a parent or approved guardian every day. Dropping off a child and driving away is not permitted under any circumstances. For Before Care you may enter the building at 7:45am. For regular camp, you may enter the building beginning at 8:45am. Campers must be picked up promptly at 3:30pm unless they are enrolled in After Care. Students enrolled in After Care must be picked up promptly at 6:30pm or before. Failure to pick up your child on time will result in the charging of late fees.
Your child needs to bring a lunch and bottled water with them every day. Please label lunch bags or boxes with your child's name. Lunches will be refrigerated and campers will not have access to microwaves or ovens. Please do not pack anything that needs to be heated and make sure to include spoons and forks if needed.
Your child should be dressed in comfortable clothes all week since they will be participating in activities and art projects. They may be painting or working with materials that can stain. Since campers will be dancing, please dress your camper in sneakers or athletic shoes. Flip-flops, sandals, and crocs are not permitted.
Campers should not bring toys or personal items to camp (i.e., cell phones, tablets, cameras, jewelry, stuffed animals, electronic games, etc.). Personal items brought to camp will be taken away for the day.
If your camper requires medication during the camp day, we need to have a completed Authorization for Medication Form completed and on file. If your child does not attend a licensed Maryland Public or Private School, we need to have a completed Immunization Certificate signed and on file. Camper Health History Form is required for all BlackRock campers. All forms can be found at blackrockcenter.org/camps
The BlackRock Camp Handbook can be found at blackrockcenter.org/camps.
